I am trying to get rid of the black behind the text so that the hatching is complete behind the text. Just so my initial description was unclear, I have attached a image. This helps greatly when applying treatment as their populations are easily decimated. I then tried to select the frame but could only select the hatching. I used dark blue for the global underlay with the kangaroo design to match the color of the fabric I was stitching on. It is important because to successfully get rid of them, you’ll need to identify specific areas that are likely to be nesting spots. Tip: When using embossed stitches the bottom color usually shows through the top one, so I recommend you chose your color for the global underlay that will blend in the background or enhance the overall design. I also manually changed the underlay setting for all the top objects to ‘Edge Run’.

I switched off all underlay settings for this object, because it IS actually the underlay. This gave me a good solid base to embroider all the objects on and avoided the fabric moving during the stitching.

I digitized a closed object in the shape of the kangaroo, chose the Tatami fill and increased the stitch spacing to 3 mm. In order to reduce the push-pull effect in the design and avoid potential gaps between the objects, I used a different technique by digitizing a global underlay. You can read more about the push and pull effect here. SpyMe Tools is a softwareprogram that can monitor both file and registry changes caused by softwareinstallations. After installing Hatch, run the tool again and look for the differences. Polygon drawing function uses the color of the background to fill holes, so that they appear as hole. This is not ideal from a push-pull perspective. Try installing a tool that makes a snapshot of your system. Using default graphical options, polygons can be plotted with hatched areas and holes are visible. This kangaroo design has many objects and because I used Embossed fills for almost all of them, the stitch angles are the same. In certain cases however, you might want to do things a little differently. C:\Program Files\Wilcom\EmbroideryStudioe4.5\BIN.
